FAQs

What’s the difference between a Certified Arborist Letter and a TRAQ Inspection?

A Certified Arborist Letter is a concise, professional document summarizing an arborist’s findings or opinion; often used for permitting, HOA requirements, or general tree condition statements.

A TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) Inspection involves a more detailed evaluation using ISA’s standardized risk assessment methodology. The result is a comprehensive report that includes visual observations, risk ratings, and mitigation recommendations. It’s designed for higher-stakes scenarios where liability or public safety is a concern.

What areas do you serve?

Maryland, Washington, DC, and surrounding areas.

How soon can you deliver a report or letter?

Turnaround time depends on the service requested. Most Certified Arborist Letters can be delivered within 3–5 business days. TRAQ Reports or Tree Inventories may take longer depending on complexity and scheduling.

Do you offer rush or expedited services?

Yes. Expedited service may be available for an additional fee, depending on availability and scope of work.

What’s the difference between a tree inspection and a tree appraisal?

A tree inspection evaluates the health, condition, or safety of a tree. A tree appraisal estimates the monetary value of a tree using industry-standard methods (such as the Guide for Plant Appraisal).

Can you review reports from other arborists or companies?

Yes. I offer Independent Arborist Reviews to provide a second opinion or validate findings from another tree care provider.

Are your services available to homeowners or just businesses?

I work with homeowners, contractors, HOAs, landscape companies, and government clients. Whether you need a single letter or ongoing support, I can tailor services to your needs.

Do you testify in court or provide legal documentation?

I do offer expert witness services with a separate agreement. Legal appearances are billed separately and require advance scheduling.
